Katey Ragsdale, LSW
Mental Health Therapist
You may find yourself feeling exhausted even when your mind won't slow down, struggling to trust others, worrying about what other people think, or carrying feelings of shame or guilt. You might know you want things to feel different but have a hard time finding the energy, motivation, or clarity to get there. Or perhaps you've tried traditional talk therapy before and feel like talking alone hasn't created the change you're looking for.
Clients often describe Katey as warm, calming, and deeply compassionate. She recognizes the courage it takes to begin therapy and strives to create a space where clients can explore their experiences without fear of judgment, moving at a pace that feels safe and empowering.
Katey believes that while trauma may be part of your story, it does not have to define your future. Healing is possible, and you don't have to walk that journey alone.
Healing from trauma can feel overwhelming, especially when it seems like your past continues to shape your present. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, feeling stuck in survival mode, or finding it difficult to feel safe, connected, or fully yourself, you don't have to navigate it alone.
Katey is passionate about supporting teens and adults navigating trauma, PTSD, ADHD, dissociation, grief, and life transitions. She also has experience supporting women who have experienced sexual exploitation, human trafficking, and domestic violence through a compassionate, collaborative, and trauma-informed approach. She believes that healing happens within the safety of a trusting therapeutic relationship, where clients feel genuinely seen, understood, and accepted.
Using EMDR therapy alongside other evidence-based approaches, Katey helps clients process difficult experiences, reduce the emotional impact of painful memories, and develop a greater sense of peace, resilience, and confidence. Rather than simply managing symptoms, her goal is to help clients experience meaningful, lasting healing so they can move forward with greater freedom and hope.
She also enjoys incorporating creativity, art, and fun into sessions when it feels meaningful to the client, particularly for teens or those who have found that traditional talk therapy alone hasn’t quite worked for them.
